Frequently Asked Questions

No. While my professional background is in high-drive operational dogs, the principles of The K9 Protocol apply to all breeds and temperaments. Whether you have a driven working prospect or a low-drive family companion, we tailor the pressure, engagement, and rewards to suit the dog in front of us.

Our Board & Train is an intensive immersion program where we do the heavy lifting to install new behaviours, refine obedience, and solve specific issues. Board & Care is a professional maintenance service for owners who are travelling; we don't install new behaviours, but we manage your dog in a structured, low-arousal environment to ensure their current training standards are preserved while you are away.
-
Yes. Behaviour Modification is one of our core services. We do not use "quick fixes" or simply mask the issue. We conduct a thorough assessment to understand the root cause of the behaviour, whether it is fear, frustration, or learned aggression and build a structured protocol to create lasting neutrality and control.

Coaching provides direct access to professional guidance via your preferred messaging app (WhatsApp, Messenger, etc.). You send us video footage of your training sessions or specific behavioural issues, and we provide a detailed breakdown of your mechanics, your dog’s drive, and exactly what adjustments you need to make before your next session.

We offer flexible options depending on your goals. HQ Lessons take place at our facility in the Macedon Ranges. For these sessions, we utilize our controlled indoor environment to build low-distraction foundations before transitioning to real-world environments to proof those behaviours in everyday scenarios. (Note: Our purpose-built secure runs are dedicated exclusively to housing our Board & Train and Board & Care dogs). We also offer Mobile Private Lessons, where we travel to your home or local neighbourhood to troubleshoot behaviours exactly where they happen.

Every successful program starts with a clear baseline. Reach out to us via our contact page with a brief description of your dog and your goals. From there, we will schedule an Initial Assessment to evaluate your dog’s temperament and build a customized training roadmap.

We guarantee our professional commitment, our facility standards, and the effectiveness of our training mechanics. However, long-term success relies entirely on the handler. We provide the blueprint, install the foundation, and coach you on the mechanics, but it is up to you to maintain the protocol and leadership at home.
